Kirsty Kavanagh

Kirsty founded Pawsome Pets in 2016, driven by her passion for helping rescue pets find & reach their forever homes. Her journey began with a tail-less foster cat, Jamie Hendrix, whom she flew with to the UK, where he was adopted and renamed Albus. This experience, along with helping other rescues travel to Europe, sparked her love for assisting pets & rescues with international travel.

Before moving to the UAE, Kirsty and her childhood pets traveled extensively due to her father's military career, which influenced her Pawsome Pets journey. After being made redundant from a successful HR career, she took a leap of faith to turn her passion into her profession—a true 'sliding doors' moment.

An animal lover from a young age, Kirsty has lived in the UAE for over 18 years, fostering numerous rescue cats and dogs. Many have found new homes, while some became beloved "foster fails." Her beloved German Shepherds, Lost and Smoke, and their feline brother Henry were founding members of Pawsome Pets. Though they have passed on, their legacy continues through the current gang: Kiva, Zak, Rocky, Maggie, and the cats Dolce and Louis.

Today, Kirsty dedicates herself to Pawsome Pets and her four-legged family, supported by her husband, Mick, who often returns from business trips to find new furry family members at home—supposedly just for a short time, but often becoming long-term fosters or "foster fails."
